The Old Cheese Factory, Derbyshire

The Old Cheese Factory is set in an idyllic location in the rural village of Windley, offering breathtaking views of the Peak District and fantastic walking and cycling opportunities straight from the door.

Built around 1690, this grade II listed building has been restored to an incredibly high standard. It retains many original features including the oak beams and lime ash floors.

The property will be tastefully decorated for the festive season and guests will be welcomed with a variety of Christmas treats. Cae Du in Snowdonia National Park

Cae Du  provides a stunning location for a festive escape with beautiful mountain panoramas, quiet forest walkways, lakeside trails, and tumbling waterfalls nearby. A short distance away is Betws-y-Coed, the principal village of the park, if you need anything. Dogs are welcome here too; there’ll be plenty of space for them to run around.

Breamish Valley Cottages, Northumberland

Breamish Valley Cottages offers a number of traditional stone built country cottages in the Cheviot Hills near Alnwick on the edge of Northumberland National Park. At the main site you’ll find tennis courts, a gym, sauna and steam room. Families will love the adventure playground and games room complete with table tennis and football.

Hemmel House, a short drive from the other cottages, is the most luxurious property and sleeps eight guests. Those staying at Christmas can be sure of a toasty break with underfloor heating, a large woodburning stove and an outdoor hot tub.

Baker’s Cottage and Swallow’s Nest, Gower

Baker’s Cottage and Swallow’s Nest are two beautifully converted one bedroom cottages on the Gower peninsula’s north west coast. The cottages are perfect for couples in search of a peaceful Christmas hideaway and plenty of coastal walks. Each has a small private garden, beautiful sea views and access to a shared hot tub.

Baker’s Cottage is a former 17th century bakehouse with, the original fireplace and baker’s oven still intact and a cosy bedroom under the eaves. Swallow’s Nest is a converted barn that has been furnished in a similar period style, with a mezzanine bedroom complete with a four-poster bed.

The former stable,‘Stabal’, sleeps six and has a lavish playroom for kids, while ‘Llofft Storws’, the old hay loft, sleeps four. Each of the properties offers contemporary, accommodation with en-suite bedrooms and open-plan living spaces, in a beautiful rural location. Visitors can enjoy walks around Newborough Warren Nature Reserve or uncover the legend of St Dwynwyn on Llanddwyn Island.

Gellideg in Wales

Gellideg is a gorgeous traditional Welsh cottage nestled in the small village of Cwmhiraeth, just a short drive from Cardigan. Built in 1850, it oozes character with beamed ceilings, a slate hearth and large country kitchen. With scenic woodland and river walks right outside and stunning beaches only half an hour away, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind this Christmas.
