Discover some fresh ideas for mini-breaks and rural escapes.
Looking for a bit of inspiration for a holiday or mini-break in the UK. Well, a LateRooms competition might give you a helping hand. It has just announced the 2013 winners of the “best-kept secrets” awards among Britain’s hotels.
There were 11 categories – from comfiest bed or best breakfast to best interiors and best view. After the public submitted the initial nominations, a panel of judges helped decide on the winners. BBC Countryfile Magazine editor Fergus Collins was one of the judges in the hotel with the best garden category. The winner was Hundred House Hotel near Telford in Shropshire.
Chloe Wright, Media and Marketing at Hundred House Hotel said. "Winning is a reward and reflection of the amazing foresight of Sylvia (who renovated the house) all those years ago and gives us further inspiration for the future of the garden."
“The winners of the 2013 Best Kept Secret Awards are a testament to the quality and variety of hotels in the UK and the hard work and excellence that goes into making their guest stays truly memorable,” said Lynda Matthews, LateRooms.com’s Head of Marketing.
