From orchids to oxe-eye daisies, the countryside is in full bloom this month – and we asked to see your images of wildflowers in all their glory. There were some impressive entries, and you have chosen ‘Yellow Iris’ by David Roberts as your favourite.
David is from Tamworth, Staffordshire, and took the photo near Dunstall Farm Bridge on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal while out walking with his nine-year-old son.
"This particular iris caught my eye because of the way the sun was shining on it, making the yellow brighter than the other iris flowers," he says. "Iris grows wild in marshy areas throughout the world, but the iris once was the flower of love during the Victorian times, and displayed the depth of ones feelings. Thanks to everyone who voted."
Well done, David!
