  Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, visitors to Sudeley Castle & Gardens can expect to have a fantastic day out.   Take a stroll through our 10 award-winning gardens, explore the castle rooms, and discover the ’20 treasures of Sudeley’. Sudeley Castle is also home to the tomb of Tudor Queen Katherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII, which is located in St Mary’s Church. A pheasantry, adventure playground with picnic area, gift shop and café in the banqueting hall complete the perfect day out.   Open daily from Monday 6th March to Sunday 29th October, 10am to 5pm.

Michelham Priory

Visit England’s longest medieval water filled moat. Explore 800 years of history at Michelham Priory: from its foundation by Augustinian canons, through the destruction caused by the dissolution of the monasteries into its later life as a country house. Hereford Cathedral

Hereford Cathedral is small, but full of historical interest. Originally Saxon, it was rebuilt by the Normans, suffered damage in the Civil War and was rebuilt again by the Victorians. Treasures include a medieval shrine to St Thomas Cantilupe and the Traherne windows by Thomas Denny. A new Ascension window and sculpture by John Maine RA, commemorating the Special Air Service Regiment, was unveiled this year. The library building houses the unique Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Hereford’s Magna Carta of 1017 will be on show from 10 July, with a related programme of talks and events.

Pencarrow House and Gardens

Owned, loved and lived in by the family.  Georgian house and Grade II* listed gardens.  Superb collection of portraits, furniture and porcelain.  Marked walks through 50 acres of beautiful formal and woodland gardens, Victorian rockery, Italian garden, over 700 different varieties of rhododendrons, lake, Iron Age hill fort and icehouse. Café, gift shop, plants for sale and childrens playground.  Open for guided tours Easter to end September, Sunday to Thursday (House, Café closed Fridays and Saturdays)
