As you may have read here last week, Dorset farmer Mark Baggs was hoping his giant pumpkin would set records.
Over the weekend there was celebration as he set the British record for the biggest pumpkin at the Jubilee Sailing Trust Pumpkin Festival.
Weighing in at 1,520lb (689kg), Mark’s pumpkin beat the previous record by 16lb (7.5kg).
However, they say everything is bigger in America and pumpkins are no different.
Californian Gary Miller has squashed the opposition in the 40th Safeway World Championship Weigh-Off with his monsterous 1,925lbs (873 kg) vegetable.
While the world record may have eluded him the British record is still some achievement, so congratualtions to Mark.
