Caught on camera: Otter and heron busted stealing fish from Northumberland fishing boat

After bait began disappearing in Amble harbour, a skipper installed a camera – and discovered some bold nighttime visitors

Kevin Henderson is the skipper of a fishing boat in Amble on the Northumberland coast. But over the last few weeks, he’s noticed that some of his fishing bait has gone missing. The team decided to put up some wildlife cameras in the hope of finding the culprit.

It turns out, it wasn’t just one hungry animal looking for a snack. Kevin’s footage discovered an otter and a heron getting into the fishing boxes.

The team has continued to capture overnight video footage of the Amber Harbour’s wildlife on board MFV Natalie Kristen II, which they’ve been sharing on their Facebook page to great amusement.
