1. Scafell Pike from Wasdale Campsite

A popular route for those wanting to tick off one of the National Three Peaks, you'll summit the highest mountain in England at an elevation of 978 meters above sea level. Expect incredible views at the top.
The path isn't to be underestimated as it requires a very steep and sustained ascent, with scree, gravel and limited shade.
2. The Roaches and Lud's Church Circular

This circular route takes you on a great mix of natural, historic and mythical sights. Expect rugged terrain and sweeping views as you make your way through to Hen Cloud, a crag popular with rock climbers.
As you progress, you'll encounter Doxey Pool, said to be the home of a malicious mermaid. Later, Lud's Church is said to be linked to a number of historical figures who sought refuge there, such as Robin Hood.
3. Malham Landscape Trail

Rough, steep and rocky terrain makes this circular walk one for those who have grippy boots and a head for heights. You'll traverse farm fields, picturesque pools and waterfalls, before ascending rocky limestone pavement towards Malham Cove, an amphitheater-like formation of limestone cliffs formed during the Ice Age.
4. Castleton, Mam Tor and The Great Ridge

On the edge of the Dark Peak and White Peak region in the Peak District National Park, you'll venture up Mam Tor, one of the most iconic hills in England. From this first peak, you'll continue along the undulating spine of the Great Ridge and beyond, offering wonderful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. To round it off, you'll head back via Castleton, Cave Dale and Slitherstone Hill.

5. Kinder Scout and Kinder Downfall Circular

6. Bamford Edge and Stanage Edge Circular

Following historic paths and open moorland trails, the route offers sweeping panoramas across the Derwent Valley, impressive rock formations and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife along the way.
7. Yorkshire Three Peaks Circular

Every year, thousand take on the effort of ascending three peaks - Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - within the 12-hour challenge cut off. As you'd expect, this is only for serious hikers with a plan and proper gear. If you fit the description, your hard work will be rewarded with stunning views and a sense of accomplishment.
8. Buttermere Circular

Showcasing some of the Lake District's most memorable scenery, this is a family-friendly route that combines tranquil lakeside paths with wide-reaching views of the surrounding fells.
9. Chee Dale Gorge Circular

A beautiful trail that takes you through the Chee Dale Gorge, a deep, picturesque gorge in the Upper Wye Valley. You'll eventually cross the Monsal Trail and pass a tearoom at Blackwell Mill if you need a convenient excuse to sample the local cuisine. What's more, there is a lovely variety of birdlife to be on the lookout for, as the Wye Valley is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
10. Rydal Water and Cave Circular

This varied Lake District walk combines woodland paths, open hillside views and peaceful lakeside scenery in a short, family-friendly route. The highlight is Rydal Cave, a striking man-made cavern carved from the area's slate-quarrying past, while the return along the shores of Rydal Water offers beautiful views across the lake.
