Herb dumplings
Turn a stew into a complete and hearty dish to feed a crowd with these delicious, easy-to-make dumplings

Ingredients
- 140g Butter, cold and diced
- 250g Self-raising flour
- 2tbsp Mixed fresh herbs try parsley, thyme, sage or chives
Method
Step 1
Rub the butter into the flour with your fingers until it feels like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the herbs with ½ tsp salt and some pepper. Drizzle over 150ml water, and stir in quickly with a cutlery knife to form a light dough. Use floured hands to shape into small balls.
Step 2
Place the dumplings on top of the prepared stew. Bake for 20 minutes in a 180°C oven until the dumplings are cooked through.
Step 3
Herb dumplings can be added to any meat or vegetarian stew
