Whether I’m camping on my own on foot, travelling by bike, or on one of my more impromptu trips, I love sourcing the best lightweight camping gear, and a portable fire pit / slash BBQ is not always the easiest thing to find, or carry.

Skreppa is a UK based company founded by a man called Billy, an outdoor enthusiast with a background in motorsport engineering, with the ethos that the outdoors is for everyone, not just those who can afford it.

With that in mind, he created the titanium superlight firepit, weighing in at 1.875 kilos and which packs down to a slim 20mm in a handy carrying case. I took this firepit on a solo trip to a campsite just north of Bath in the South West, to test it out.

Design and Portability

Portability is where the Skreppa Titanium Superlight Fire Pit really shines. Weighing in at just under 2 kilos, it’s incredibly easy to carry, even on longer hikes where every ounce counts.

The whole setup packs flat into a slim pouch that fits neatly into the back pocket of my backpack, leaving room for more essential gear, and its handy carrying bag has handles that you can tie on to your backpack, or just carry on shorter distances, like down to the beach.

I’ve taken it on multiple overnight treks, and I barely notice it’s there until it’s time to set up camp. If you’re someone who values lightweight gear without compromising function, this fire pit definitely earns its place in your kit.

Ease of Use

One of the things I appreciate most about the Skreppa Titanium Superlight Fire Pit is how simple it is to set up and break down. The components slot together intuitively–no tools, screws, or fiddly parts. Even after a long day on the trail, I can assemble it in under two minutes, usually in low light and with tired hands.

The titanium panels fit snugly, providing a stable base for a small campfire or to support a pot or pan for cooking. When it's time to pack up, it cools down quickly and slides back into its storage sleeve without any fuss. For a piece of gear this light and compact, the user experience is impressively smooth and efficient.

Durability and Materials

The Skreppa Titanium Superlight Fire Pit is built from grade 2 titanium, which strikes a solid balance between strength and weight. Despite its minimal thickness, the panels hold up incredibly well to repeated heating and cooling cycles. I’ve used it on rocky ground, damp forest floors, and even sandy beaches and it’s shown zero warping, rust, or structural issues.

Titanium’s natural resistance to corrosion is a huge bonus, especially for wet or humid environments. After several burns, there's some expected discoloration (that classic heat-blued titanium look), but no signs of weakening or fatigue. It's clear that this fire pit was designed with long-term use in mind, not just as a gimmick for ultralight enthusiasts.

Functionality

In terms of performance, the Skreppa Titanium Superlight Fire Pit punches well above its weight. It provides excellent airflow thanks to its open-sided design, which helps maintain a clean, hot burn with minimal smoke—especially when using dry wood. I’ve used it to boil water, cook simple meals, and of course, just enjoy a warm fire at the end of the day.

It’s compact and the cooking space is limited, so you won’t be hosting a bonfire, but for small group cooking or personal warmth, it does the job reliably. It also lifts the fire off the ground, which is ideal for Leave No Trace camping and makes it suitable even in areas where ground fires are restricted.

The open design does mean it’s slightly less effective in high winds, and while the lightweight panels fit together in a sturdy way, the fire pit does feel a little less stable on uneven ground, however, both these issues can be fixed with wind breaks or a portable flat surface like a piece of wood.

Titanium dissipates heat quickly which is a big plus on portability and safety, but it can make cooking less efficient compared to more heavy duty models. Overall, it’s a highly functional piece of gear that delivers consistent, efficient performance in a range of conditions.

Value For Money

Priced at £149.99, the Skreppa Titanium Superlight Fire Pit is positioned at a premium level within the portable fire pit market. While this may seem steep compared to traditional steel or foldable models, it's important to consider the unique advantages it offers, however, if you're looking for a fire pit with integrated features like a grill or windscreen, other alternatives like might be more suitable.

Sustainability

Skreppa’s fire pit is made from aerospace-grade titanium—a material chosen not just for weight, but for its exceptional durability. This long lifespan means you’re not replacing your gear every few years, which significantly reduces waste over time.

The fire pit is designed for efficient, low-smoke burns, helping minimize air pollution during use. Its elevated, ventilated base also prevents scorched earth and fire scars, making it Leave No Trace–friendly—ideal for eco-conscious campers.

Should You Buy It?

Yes, if you're looking for a ultralightweight piece of kit that doesn't compromise on durability and functionality.
