Features and Design
I’ve always believed that the right tent can make or break a camping trip, especially when you’re heading out with family or a group of friends. That’s why I was excited to try the OLPRO Orion 6 Berth Tent. As someone who values space, comfort, and practicality on the campsite, I wanted to see if this tent could live up to its promise of being a roomy, reliable base for group adventures. From the moment I unpacked it, I was curious to find out how easy it would be to pitch, how well it would handle unpredictable weather, and whether it truly offered the living space and features that a six people would need.
I took the tent to a campsite in Weymouth where the weather fluctuated between hot sun and drizzle.

Capacity and Comfort
The OLPRO Orion 6 offers plenty of space for group camping. With the option to use both sleeping pods, it comfortably fits six people, though it feels more generous with fewer occupants and extra living space. The central area is tall enough to stand and move around in, which makes a big difference on longer stays or wet-weather days.
The darkened bedroom fabric helps block out early morning light, making it easier to get a proper rest, while the sewn-in groundsheet keeps the interior dry and draught-free. The living area is versatile enough to use for cooking, storing gear, or just relaxing, and the skylight adds a welcome touch of brightness during the day. Overall, it strikes a good balance between sleeping capacity and liveable comfort.
Weather Protection and Durability
The OLPRO Orion 6 performs well in a range of conditions. Its 5,000mm hydrostatic head and fully taped seams kept the interior dry during heavy rain, while the sewn-in groundsheet prevented drafts and water ingress from below. The hybrid pole system – with steel legs and fibreglass roof and bedroom poles – provides a stable structure in moderate wind, though extreme gusts could challenge the fibreglass sections. Overall, it feels robust for regular car camping trips and should hold up well over time, especially with careful handling and proper storage.

Weight and Packability
Weighing in at around 18 kg, the Olpro Orion 6 is best suited for car-based camping rather than backpacking or trekking. It packs down to roughly 75 × 30 × 30 cm, which is manageable for a car boot but still takes up a fair amount of space. While the size and weight can feel bulky at first, the included carry bag and organized pole system make transporting and storing it straightforward, and I was able to carry it without an issue over short distances.
It only took about 10 minutes to take down – impressive for such a large tent – and I was impressed that the bag was actually big enough to get the tent back in it easily.
Features and Design
The Olpro Orion 6 combines practicality with thoughtful touches. Its tunnel-style layout offers a spacious living area with tall headroom, two darkened sleeping pods, and a roof skylight for natural light. Large mesh windows and multiple ventilation points improve airflow, while the canopy poles allow you to prop open the doors for extra space or shade. The hybrid pole system – steel legs with fibreglass roof and bedroom poles – supports the structure effectively, and the tent comes with essential accessories like pegs, guy lines, a carry bag, and a spare pole, making it ready to camp straight out of the bag.
Value For Money
At £825.00 (RRP) this tent is an investment. However with its spacious design, clever features and lifetime warranty, this tent will make camping trips feel luxurious and last you a long time.
Sustainability?
The Olpro Orion 6 Berth Tent incorporates eco-friendly materials, notably its use of OLTECH® REPRO 190T fabric, which is crafted from repurposed single-use plastic bottles. This initiative reflects OLPRO's commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact. While the tent's hybrid pole system combines steel and fiberglass, which may not be fully recyclable, the inclusion of recycled materials in the fabric is a positive step towards more sustainable camping gear.
Should You Buy It?
If you’re thinking about adding a larger tent to your camping kit, this one is a great choice with its useful features and ease of use.
