Design and Style
I’ve been wearing the Merry People Bobbi Ankle Wellies on everything from quick errands in the rain to muddy countryside walks, and they’ve really impressed me. What I love most is how they don’t look like typical clunky rain boots – the Chelsea boot design makes them easy to style with jeans or even a casual dress. The natural rubber feels sturdy without being stiff, and the neoprene lining adds just the right amount of warmth and cushioning.
Pulling them on is simple thanks to the side panels and back tab, and once they’re on, they stay comfortable for hours. I also like that Merry People offers them in such a wide range of colors – it feels like you can pick a pair that really suits your personality. For me, they’ve struck the perfect balance between practicality and style

Materials and Build Quality
I’ve come to really appreciate the craftsmanship of the Merry People Bobbi Wellies. Right out of the box, the natural rubber feels both sturdy and well-made – rugged enough for rainy and muddy days, yet flexible enough not to feel stiff. Inside, the 4 mm neoprene lining envelops my feet with cosy cushioning, almost like a wetsuit for your feet, however in torrential downpour, the low style means some water can get in. Pull tabs at the front and back make slipping them on a breeze, and the removable insole is a thoughtful touch – ideal for roomier fit, bunions, or custom orthotics. I also love that they’re fully vegan and waterproof, designed to keep you dry even in below-freezing temps. All these details combine to give me confidence that these boots are built to last – and to do it in style.

Comfort and Fit
I’ve spent plenty of drizzly days walking—running errands, countryside strolls, you name it – in the Bobbi Ankle Wellies, and they’ve generally impressed me with how snug and supportive they feel. The built-in arch support genuinely holds up over long periods, and the neoprene lining cushions your feet like a flexible, cozy sock while molding gently over time.
I’ve found that you can size them true to your regular shoe size – and if you're a half-size, it’s recommended to size down because the neoprene and natural rubber soften over time. After a few wears, the material stretches just enough to accommodate wider feet or bunions, though initially it might feel a bit firm.
While breathable, my feet did get a little hot, and after a full day walking in them, my feet did feel a little fatigued.
Waterproofing
I’ve always relied on a good pair of wellies to get me through wet days, muddy walks, and all the in-between weather that makes regular shoes a gamble. For me, wellies aren’t just about keeping my feet dry, they’re about comfort, practicality, and having something I can trust no matter what the forecast looks like. That’s why I decided to try the Merry People Bobbi Ankle Wellies: they promised the waterproof protection I need in a shorter, more versatile style that I could wear both outdoors and casually around town.
