Amanda Owen – also known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess – is a shepherdess, writer and TV presenter. Her books include The Yorkshire Shepherdess, Tales from the Farm and Celebrating the Seasons with the Yorkshire Shepherdess.

Amanda Owen lives and works on a farm called Ravenseat Farm, in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales, with her family. It is predominantly a sheep farm and is thought to consist of around 2000 acres.

Amanda Owen is not married. She was previously married to Clive Owen, who also featured in her TV shows, for 22 years.

She has nine children with her ex-husband Clive Owen.
What TV shows has she presented?
Owen and her family first appeared on the ITV documentary The Dales in 2011. In 2015, the family appeared in an episode of New Lives in the Wild UK with Ben Fogle. This led to their own Channel 5 documentary, Our Yorkshire Farm.
What is Amanda Owen doing now?
In 2024, Channel 4 broadcast Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, where the family begin to renovate a derelict farmhouse (High Smith Holme, also known as Anty John's), as well as following their day-to-day farming lives. A second series was broadcast and a third and fourth series have been commissioned.
The farmhouse was the former home of the Georgian-era land surveyor and commissioner, Anthony John Clarkson, who drew all of Swaledale's maps. It's thought that the family will move into the farmhouse once renovations are completed.
