New research by The Kennel Club reveals London as the leading region for dog-friendly workplaces, with growing support for canine companions in offices across the country.

As Bring Your Dog to Work Day approaches on 20 June, new figures from The Kennel Club found that Greater London is officially the most dog-friendly region in the UK when it comes to office culture. An impressive 40% of dog owners in the capital report that their workplace welcomes dogs, with 22% confirming their employers have dedicated dog-friendly policies in place.

The capital's canine credentials place it over 12% above the national average, where just 30% of workplaces across the UK allow dogs. Behind London, the South West (36%) and East Midlands (35%) follow closely, while Yorkshire and the Humber and the East of England trail, each with only 22% of workplaces allowing dogs.

The findings are part of The Kennel Club’s Open for Dogs campaign, which supports businesses in becoming more welcoming to pets and highlights the many benefits of having dogs in the workplace.

Charlotte McNamara, spokesperson for The Kennel Club, said: “Welcoming dogs into the workplace can help to boost morale, encourage productivity and foster a positive atmosphere. Responsible dog-friendly policies can be really advantageous for owners, colleagues and dogs alike, so we encourage businesses – both in London and nationwide – to be Open for Dogs.”
