How tall is Prince Harry? And how does he stack up against other British royals?

He's shorter than his brother, but still towers above his father and other family members

Although the Duke of Sussex isn't photographed alongside his brother Prince William much these days, it's clear to see he shares some of his strong physical characteristics – most notably his height.

Prince Harry actually stands at 1.88 m (6ft 2in), making him the second-tallest member of the British Royal Family after Prince William. That’s 10 cm (4in) taller than King Charles and 13 cm (5 in) taller than Queen Camilla.

Prince Harry’s height gives him a strong, commanding presence, whether making public appearances on stage, meeting world leaders, attending ceremonial events or engaging with the public during charitable work.

How does he compare to other royals? His brother, Prince William, is slightly taller at 1.91 m (6ft 3in), while King Charles measures 1.78 m (5ft 10in), and Catherine, Princess of Wales, stands at 1.75 m (5ft 9in). The height difference between the princes and their father is especially noticeable in family photos.

Historically, British monarchs have varied in height. King George VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II, was 1.75m (5ft 9in), a little taller than the average male at the time. While Queen Victoria was quite short – just 1.5m (4ft 11in).

Prince Harry’s stature is taller than many recent royals, giving him a presence reminiscent of historic monarchs, the tallest of which was King Edward IV (reigned 1461-1483), who measured around 1.91m (6ft 3in).

Prince William and Harry's lofty stature is often credited to the tall genes of the Spencer family. Princess Diana 178 cm (5 ft 10 in), was a similar height to her husband at the time, now King Charles.
