The singer who found fame as a child is appearing in the BBC's The Celebrity Traitors – but what does Charlotte Church do now?


Who is Charlotte Church?

Charlotte Church is a Welsh singer-songwriter who rose to fame as a child for singing classical music, and later transitioned into a pop career with the hit single Crazy Chick. She now hosts a wellbeing retreat called The Retreat in Powys.

 She was born on 21 February 1986.

What is Charlotte Church doing now?

Charlotte now runs The Retreat, which hosts wellbeing and nature-focused workshops and stays. She has previously hosted the podcast Kicking Back with The Cardiffians on BBC Sounds. It has been confirmed that she will be appearing in The Celebrity Traitors UK, which will be broadcast on BBC One in autumn 2025, along with Clare Balding.

It was also rumoured that comedian Bob Mortimer would be appearing in the series, although this hasn't been confirmed by the BBC – could he be a late addition to the Highland castle?

She has been married to Jonathan Powell, who also works in the music industry, since 2017.

Charlotte Church has three children: two with her ex-fiancé (former rugby player Gavin Henson) and one with her husband Jonathan.

Where does Charlotte Church live?

Charlotte bought Rhydoldog House, the former home of Welsh fashion designer Laura Ashley, in Builth Wells, Powys. She renovated the property with the aim of creating a retreat and wedding venue which was documented in the discovery+ TV show Charlotte Church's Dream Build. The house is now The Retreat, although it's not known whether she lives in the property.
