We’ll be returning to the magical world of Narnia later this year, with Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s novels being released in cinemas.
Narnia will debut in IMAX theatres in November ahead of its release on Netflix in December.
While many details of the film remain behind closed (wardrobe) doors, it’s rumoured that we’ll meet the White Witch, and Aslan. The film is thought to be an adaptation of Lewis’s novel The Magician’s Nephew, which explores the creation of Narnia.

Where is Narnia filmed?
London
Greta Gerwig was spotted on a film set in London, for what is thought to be her Narnia adaptation. On set, actors wore 1950s-style costumes. A vintage red London bus and posters could also be seen. In one of the posters, the phrase ‘Coming soon… a new world, a new home!’ runs alongside the images of a building and a lion.
These clues have left fans speculating online that Gerwig’s film will shift the events of C.S. Lewis’s book from the early 19th century to post-World War II Britain.
Filming is believed to have taken place at the Tower of London, the Royal Exchange and the Old Royal Naval College.
Manchester
The Manchester Evening News reported that filming for Narnia was taking place in the Castlefield area of the city in August 2025. Photos taken near the set show one of the film’s actors, David McKenna, and that iconic lamppost.
Bradford
Videos claiming to be of the Narnia set have been shared on TikTok, with one of the actors riding a horse in the same costume as they appeared in London. Alleyways in-between residential houses were transformed for the shoot.
