Dimitri Houtart is BBC environment, food and rural affairs executive editor and BBC rural affairs champion. As the BBC’s Rural Affairs Champion, Dimitri helps and advises on the coverage of rural issues across the whole of the BBC including News. Dimitri also has direct responsibility for many of Radio 4’s rural affairs, environment, Natural History & food programming. His portfolio includes the daily news programme Farming Today as well as series such as The Food Programme, Costing the Earth, Naturebang, Tweet of the Day, Open Country, Ramblings & more. Dimitri also looks after the BBC Food & Farming awards. All together he is responsible for nearly 500 programmes a year.
