The multi-award-winning Green Man is one of the heartening success stories of the troubled British music festival scene.
One of the few large independent festivals remaining in the UK (alongside End of the Road and Boomtown), it's famous for its non-corporate and ethical ethos, and has raised nearly £2.5-million for charity.
The Glanusk Estate and the surrounding Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) provide the backdrop, with river walks along the Usk to Crickhowell one of the festival's highlights.
Tickets are regularly gobbled up within an hour or two of going on sale, however, and even before the line-up has been revealed.
And what a line-up the festival regularly produces, with 2026's highlights for us including Tamikrest, the Beta Band, and Suntou Susso and The Gambian Superstars. 2025, meanwhile, saw CMAT deliver one of the great Green Man sets.
As with all great music festivals, Green Man isn't just about the music. Comedy, cabaret, a wealth of leading writers and talks, a packed schedule for kids, traditional craft lessons and more keep punters entertained and informed.
There's also the Settlement, which offers places for a weeklong stay, communal barbecues, live music and foraging.
The festival even has its own festival beer and cider, namely the Growler and Guzzler, as well as a wealth of international cuisine.
Since it was founded in 2014, the Green Man Trust has:
- 13,737 People Supported
- £2,465,000 fundraised for projects
- 2,094 people have done training at the festival
- £254,201 donated to Community Projects
Tickets for this year's Green Man sold out in less than two hours, according to organisers. And tickets for 2027? They go on sale on Saturday 26 September here.
