LateRooms.com today launches the 2013 Best Kept Secret Awards, the annual hunt for the UK’s hidden hotel gems.
The hotel booking specialist is asking customers and industry experts to nominate their favourite properties across a number of categories via the awards’ website and entries can be made until 25 August.
The coveted awards, now in their fourth year, honour the accommodation with accolades such as the Best View, Best Service, Best Spa and more.
Countryfile Magazine editor Fergus Collins will return this year as a judge on the panel for the Best Garden category.
Following the huge success and thousands of nominations in the awards last year, 2013’s Best Kept Secret Awards will see a brand new category added in the form of Best for Golf, which will seek to highlight the best of the ‘stay and play’ courses around the country.
LateRooms.com will be once again asking guests to nominate hotels that are eco-savvy and innovative with the Best Eco Credentials category, and will be looking for properties that have truly memorable culinary experiences with the Best for Dining and Best Breakfast categories.
There will also be an opportunity for LateRooms.com’s Facebook community to nominate and judge the Best Hotel of the Year.
After the nominations have been received, a shortlist of finalists will then be drawn up, with LateRooms.com representatives and leading travel experts judging and selecting the eventual winners.
A previous Best Kept Secret Award winning hotel commented: “We are honoured that we won the Best View category in last year’s LateRooms.com Best Kept Secret Awards,” said James Parker, the Operating Director of Tregenna Castle Hotel in Cornwall.
“It is a great privilege to have such a stunning view of St Ives and the coastline below and since we won, visitors from near and far have flocked to see our panorama! Ours was a secret that we were delighted to share, and winning an award was a huge accolade and boost for us.”
“Now in its fourth year, the LateRooms.com Best Kept Secret Awards are continuing to raise the profile of the UK’s finest accommodation,” comments Lynda Matthews, LateRooms.com’s Head of Marketing.
“We are really looking forward to showcasing more fabulous properties who have made their guests’ stays truly memorable and are delighted to once again be working with some fantastic travel industry insiders to help reward the crème de la crème of this year’s nominations.”
