Three Things To Know:

  • Massive Capacity – With 20,000 mAh, this power bank can recharge most smartphones multiple times, making it perfect for long trips, travel, or camping when outlets aren’t available
  • Solid but Heavy – It’s built tough and feels reliable, but at over 500 g, it’s not exactly pocket-friendly. It’s best suited for backpacks or travel bags rather than everyday pocket carry
  • Simple and Reliable Charging – Between the USB-C and dual USB-A ports, it’s very straightforward to use. The LED indicators are clear, and fast charging works well for phones and tablets, though speeds drop if you’re charging multiple devices at once

I rely on my devices all day, whether it’s my phone for work, my tablet for entertainment, or my earbuds on the go. The problem is, batteries never seem to last as long as I need them to. That’s why having a reliable power bank has become essential for me. A good power bank isn’t just about extra juice, it’s about peace of mind when I’m traveling, commuting or even heading outdoors.

On camping trips especially, where outlets aren’t exactly an option, a high-capacity power bank can make a huge difference. Recently, I’ve been using the Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 20K, and it’s been interesting to see how it holds up in both everyday life and off-the-grid adventures.

Design and Portability

When I first picked up the Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 20K, the size and weight stood out right away. At just over 500 grams, it is quite heavy, but its simple and clean rectangle shape makes it easy to slide into a jacket pocket or hiking backpack when on the go. The matte finish helps protect it against scratches and smudges.

I also like the clean layout, with two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and clear LED charge indicators, everything feels straightforward and functional. While it’s a little hefty for everyday carry, I actually don’t mind the trade-off when I’m traveling or camping, because I know the extra capacity will be worth it.

There is also an option to buy the Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 20K with an integrated USB-C cable.

Battery Capacity and Charging Speed

The re-charging speed is impressive on this power bank. It can be recharged at a good rate via USB-C input, and the inclusion of pass-through charging means I don’t have to wait to charge the bank before using it, and it can charge itself while charging my phone.

With an impressive 20,000 mAh of battery, this Belkin claims the power bank can charge an iPhone 15 Pro from 0 to 50% in 35 minutes, or a Galaxy S23 Plus from 0 to 50% in 45 minutes. However, I’m able to get my (very old) iPhone 8 from 1% to 50% in about 20 minutes, and to 100% in about 40 minutes, even while I’m using it, which is very useful on hikes and camping trips.

Charging three devices at the same time obviously means the charge time is slower, but it’s still impressive and with a total of 15W shared between the products.

Ease of Use

This is a really effective, but no fuss power bank with useful yet not complicated accessories. The power bank powers on automatically when I plug in a device, so there’s no extra button-pressing needed just to get going. The LED charge indicators are clear and reliable, I know roughly how much juice is left at a glance, which is super helpful when I’m out camping or traveling. Plus, the inclusion of USB-A and USB-C ports means I can charge more than one device without juggling cables or adapters.

It also comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Value for Money

At £34.99 this isn’t the cheapest power bank on the market but it is one of the best i’ve tried for this price, which won’t break the bank. It also comes with a 2 year warranty.

Sustainability

The power bank is made with some recycled plastic and the packaging is 100% plastic free. Many of Belkin products use 73-90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, and the company also aims for carbon neutrality in direct operations by 2025 and full supply chain neutrality by 2030.

Should You Buy It?

Yes, if you’re looking for a reliable and fast charging power bank for a reasonable price this is the one for you!
