If there’s one thing British travellers know, it’s to always expect the unexpected, especially when it comes to the weather. One moment the sun is out, the next you’re hit with an icy breeze or sudden drizzle. That’s why BAM’s Packable Cloud Jacket feels like such a smart and timely solution.
It’s light, warm and stylish and, best of all, it packs down into its own internal pocket to become a travel pillow. That makes it a genuinely useful companion for everything from camping trips and train journeys to walking holidays and city breaks.

Design
At first glance, it may appear to be your average lightweight puffer jacket, but I found there is a lot more to it than first meets the eye.
The Cloud Jacket is designed to provide serious warmth without the bulk, thanks to 100% recycled polyester insulation that traps heat while still allowing the jacket to remain breathable and easy to wear. The wind-resistant outer fabric, also made from recycled polyester, has a soft, almost silky feel, and is finished with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating to offer light protection against showers and sudden changes in weather.
Fit
Its slightly oversized fit and curved hem make it flattering and easy to throw on over activewear or knitwear. The funnel neck and internal cuff help keep draughts at bay, while the two zipped hip pockets are perfect for stashing essentials. I'd recommend sizing up if you tend to layer up when on the go. The jacket doesn't have a hood so I found a hoodie underneath necessary, but this was quite snug (I opted for a size Small).
The real game-changer is its ability to fold into the internal pocket transforming into a neat, pillow-sized bundle that you can tuck into your backpack or use to snooze more comfortably on long journeys.

Sustainability
Made entirely from recycled polyester (including the insulating fill) the Cloud Jacket is part of BAM’s 73 Zero circular collection. That means it’s certified recyclable by the Circular Textiles Foundation and can be returned via BAM’s free take-back scheme when it’s reached the end of its life.
Easy to care for (just pop it in the wash at 30°C) and effortless to wear, it’s perfect for transitional weather and packing light. The Blue Rain colourway adds a pop of style, while its clever packability makes it a standout for eco-conscious travellers. It's also available in a dark taupe colour for those looking for a more subtle jacket. It would be great to see a broader range of colours available in future, particularly for those of us with a more muted wardrobe.
