Netflix's hit period drama Bridgerton, set during the Regency period, is full of glamour, debauchery, intrigue and scandal. And in season four, we focus on the second-born Bridgerton son, Benedict, as he faces pressure to marry. From what we can see from the trailer, we're expecting a Cinderella-esque story. But how is this dramatic and romantic world recreated on screen?

Where is Bridgerton filmed?

As you would expect from such a lavish production, Bridgerton has filmed at some Britain's most fabulous and opulent stately homes and parks, all of which provide dramatic backdrops to the drama. And many of them you can visit....

Bath

Bath has long been an obvious filming choice for period dramas when shooting 'London' scenes and Bridgerton is no different. 01 Royal Crescent, a townhouse museum that is decorated and furnished as it would have been during the Georgian period, doubles as the Featheringtons' home.

Bath's Royal Crescent also came in useful for Grosvenor Square.

And like many previous period dramas, Bath Assembly Rooms, with its mirrored, chandelier-lit, ballroom, proved useful for ball scenes, as did the city's Guildhall.

Bath also steps up for Lady Danbury’s London abode. The impressive society queen needs suitable accommodation and the city's exquisitely pillared Holburne Museum fits the bill perfectly.

London

The Bridgertons' London home is, however, actually in London. Rangers’ Housea wisteria-clad Georgian stately home on the edge of Greenwich Park, doubles up as their Mayfair residence although Hatfield House is also used for some scenes.

London's Syon House has also played its part, providing backdrops for Lady Danbury's ball in Season two and for the Buckingham House scenes (before it became the palace).

When the other, poorer, side of London is to be shown, The Historic Dockyard Chatham steps in.

A royal palace fit for a queen was needed for Queen Charlotte and you can't get much more regal-looking than Hampton Court Palace, located in Richmond on the banks of the Thames. It provides the perfect backdrop for exterior scenes, while palace interiors were filmed at Lancaster House in Westminster.

Ham House and Garden is a potential new location for season four after it was closed for filming during Bridgerton's production. Fans have speculated that scenes for a party hosted by Phillip Cavender were filmed there, which is when fate brings Benedict Bridgerton and his love interest Sophie Baek together again. The 17th century house is run by the National Trust and is located on the banks of the River Thames in Richmond.

The Bridgerton team has also expanded its back lots in Shepperton Studios, just outside of London. The build spans around two acres and features replicas of Georgian and Regency architecture, including homes, buildings, Mayfair Street and more.

Lincolnshire

Filming also took place at Burghley House, near Stamford, and is widely believed to be used as a location in season four of Bridgerton. It could feature in flashback scenes as Penwood Park, which was the ancestral home of the Earl of Penwood.

Surrey

Loseley Park was closed during Bridgerton's filming schedule, and a photo of My Cottage (Benedict's country home) was later released during a fan event that Netflix hosted in February 2025 – and it certainly bears a striking resemblance to it. Could this grand home be used as My Cottage?
