The Repair Shop, a staple of late-afternoon television, follows skilled crafts people as they restore family heirlooms to their former glory. There are often heartwarming stories attached to the much-loved family objects, so don't be surprised it you shed a tear or two.

Where is The Repair Shop filmed?

The Repair Shop is filmed at the Weald and Downland Living Museum in Singleton village, Chichester, West Sussex. The museum is home to over 50 historic houses and buildings – from an Anglo-Saxon house to a 19th-century toll house – each offering visitors a window into how our ancestors lived.

The 'Shop', as it is also known, is filmed in the museum's Court Barn, a stunning late 17th- early 18th-century timber-framed barn with huge doors. Most of the repairs by the skilled crafts people are done here, although some are carried out at the Victorian smithy and nearby Wagon Shed.

The barn is usually closed when filming, which means you won't bump into any of the restorers, or have the chance to offer them a cuppa while they work. But fear not, visitors can see the production set when it's not in use.

Who presents The Repair Shop?

The Repair Shop is presented by several restorers, including carpenter Will Kirk, metal worker Dominic Chinea and furniture restorer Jay Blades.

The Repair Shop can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
