From Monty Don's garden helpers to Lady Gaga's headline-hitting Frenchies, meet the celebrity dogs who are almost as famous as their owners.
Celebrity's dogs
Monty Don
Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don has three dogs: Ned the golden retriever, Patti the Yorkshire terrier (one of the best terrier breeds) and Peggy the wire-haired dachshund. In 2023, he announced the sad news that his Labrador Nell had died from cancer.
David Beckham
The Beckhams have five dogs: three cocker spaniels, a German shepherd and a cockapoo (a cocker spaniel/poodle cross). Simba the cockapoo is the latest addition to the family, joining the three other dogs – Logan the German shepherd (one of the world's smartest dog breeds), and Figgy, Sage and Olive, who are all cocker spaniels (incidentally, cocker spaniels are among the best active dog breeds for owners that enjoy exercise).

Alan Carr
Having previously owned Irish red setters Bev and Joyce, Alan Carr has since adopted a dog named Rita from the All Dogs Matter charity.
JB Gill
JLS band member JB Gill now runs a farm in the Kent countryside, where he and his wife produce turkeys. Gill has a rescue mastiff called Nala, whom he met in 2013 when he was a guest on The Paul O’Grady Show, during a segment about animals needing a home.
Lady Gaga
The pop icon is believed to have three French bulldogs, two of which hit headlines in 2021 when they were stolen. These two dogs – Koji and Gustav – were returned to Gaga, and were joined by a new French bulldog in 2024.

Katherine Ryan
Comedian Katherine Ryan has three small dogs: Cardi B, Manny and Meg Ryan – the latter of whom is related to Walking the Dog host Emily Dean’s Shih Tzu Raymond.
Greg James and Bella Mackie
Radio 1 DJ Greg James and author Bella Mackie adopted a Labrador named Barney from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Stormzy
The grime artist is believed to have two Rottweilers, but it’s not known what their names are.
Claudia Winkleman
Claudia Winkleman has a young Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Skip, the first pet she has ever owned. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are one of the best small family dogs.
Jeremy Clarkson
The Labrador retriever is the UK’s most popular dog breed, so it's no surprise that Jeremy Clarkson has chosen this excellent breed for life on Diddly Squat Farm: Sansa and Arya, two fox-red Labradors, and a black dog of unknown breed called Didier Dogba. He named his pub ‘The Farmer’s Dog’ in recognition of his pets.
Lewis Hamilton
Formula One star Lewis Hamilton has a British bulldog named Roscoe, who often attends races with him. Like his owner, Roscoe enjoys a vegan diet.
