The Nemo Equipment brand was launched in New England in 2004, and their designs have been winning innovation awards ever since. The company is still owner-led with a focus on small-business values and high-quality outdoor equipment. The Nemo Disco Women’s down sleeping bag is generous in its proportions, comfort and warmth. Designed to keep you toasty whatever level of chill the weather throws at you, its clever venting system makes it equally suitable for warmer nights.

Green sleeping bag

First impressions

With attractive colouring and high-quality fill, this a good-looking sleeping bag but its attraction goes way beyond its looks. With a high level of squeezability and loft, this bag’s higher temperature ratings are obvious as soon as you get it out of its handy compression sack. The Thermo Gills on the front initially look like hand holes but unzip them and you’ll discover this bag’s clever venting secret. With a higher-end price tag, this sleeping bag covers more bases than most.

How warm is the bag?

One of the highlights of this sleeping bag is its versatility. With impressive temperature ratings, it will comfortably take you through frosty autumn or spring camps but on warmer summer nights, its unique Thermo Gill vents will allow heat to escape without creating annoying draughts. Whilst this sleeping bag doesn’t have a shoulder baffle, it’s hood is cinchable, and it has a large draught collar at the front. The zip baffle is generous in both size and padding, and the waterproof foot box and hood patch will deal with condensation in smaller tents.

How comfortable?

If you’ve found previous sleeping bags too restrictive, you’ll love the Nemo Disco. It’s spoon shaping allows you to curl up and spread out as much as you want, without creating those colder areas of squashed down you might have experienced in tighter sleeping bags. The external front draught collar and ingenious pillow pocket combined with this bag’s deep squishy feel will have you to thinking warm thoughts before you’ve even wriggled inside it. And when you are ready to get cosy, the high-end YKK zip will slide easily without sticking.

Is the down responsibly sourced?

This bag is filled with 100% RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified down.

Sustainability?

This sleeping bag is made in Cambodia. The hydrophobic down filling is PFC-free.

Are other versions available?

The Women’s Disco down sleeping bag is also available in Long. The Disco Men’s Down sleeping bag is available in Regular and Long and will zip together with the women’s version.

Is it good value?

This sleeping bag is expensive, but it has high quality features and will allow you to extend your camping season in comfort.

Best for:

Camping from a vehicle across spring, summer and autumn. Backpacking if you don’t mind carrying a bigger rucksack.
