The Welcome Way passes through stunning moorland, woodlands and riversides, and is the collaborative effort of three West Yorkshire towns: Otley, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Basildon, with the help of Walkers are Welcome and The Open Spaces Society.

There is an additional nine-mile loop taking in the Walkers Are Welcome town of Bingley.

The route will be open to walkers' from tomorrow.

Kate Ashbrook, vice president of the Ramblers and patron of the Walkers Are Welcome, said: "This is a first. Three Walkers Are Welcome towns have collaborated to produce and promote a route which not only introduces walkers to their splendid countryside, but takes them in to the heart of the towns themselves."

The launch is at the start of the Otley Walking Festival. Please visit http://www.otleywalkingfestival.co.uk/ for more information.
