MGM+'s TV adaptation of Robin Hood, starring Sean Bean as the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham, is the latest to add a more modern spin to the legendary heroic outlaw.
After the Norman invasion of England, Rob (a Saxon forester's son) is stripped of his ancestral home and his father is executed. But after a rekindled encounter with Marian (the daughter of a Norman lord), the two work together to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to England – alongside an ensemble of Merry Men, of course.
Jack Patten is taking on the bow and arrow in the titular role, while Lauren McQueen (who also starred in Belgravia: The Next Chapter and Outlander: Blood of My Blood) plays his equally daring companion Marion.

Where is Robin Hood filmed?
Although the tale of Robin Hood is famously linked with Nottingham, Robin Hood was filmed across Serbia. Some scenes, such as ones set at the historic Palace of Westminster, were shot at PFI Studios which is near the capital city Belgrade. Exterior scenes were filmed around the town of Gornji Milanovac – and the village of Varnice and the mountainous area of Fruška Gora were transformed into Sherwood forest.
Scenes featuring Locksley Manor (Rob's ancestral home) were filmed at Rudnik mountain, known for its hiking trails and bird-watching.
How to watch the new Robin Hood TV series
Robin Hood is available to watch on Prime Video, with episodes being released weekly. There will be 10 episodes in total.
