How tall will Prince George be (and will he be as tall as his dad)?

If the trend continues, Prince George may be the tallest British monarch we’ve ever had

When Prince George was seen greeting fans at Sandringham during the Royal Family’s Christmas outing last year, the public was stunned by how tall he had become, inching closer to the heights of his – already rather tall – parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales. So, with that in mind, we pose the question – how tall will Prince George be in future? Will he exceed the heights of either (or both) of his parents? And will he be the tallest monarch Britain has ever had?

How tall will Prince George be?

To estimate Prince George’s future height, we first need to look at the heights of both of his parents. The Prince and Princess of Wales are both relatively tall, so Prince George is predicted to also reach similar heights.

How tall are the Prince and Princess of Wales?

Prince William is currently believed to be 1.91m tall, which is about 6 feet 3 inches. This makes him the tallest member of the British Royal Family.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, is around 1.75m tall – around 5 feet 9 inches.

Both are taller than the average British man and woman – by around five inches respectively.

Will Prince George end up being as tall as Prince William?

While your height is dictated by the genes you inherit from your parents, there are other factors at play too, with nutrition and disease accounting for around 20 per cent of the height variation between people. We often think of each generation as being taller than the last, but this is often due to improved nutrition and health – paired with the fact that parents may become shorter as they age, due to the compression of cartilage.

Therefore, it’s likely Prince George will end up as tall as his parents – if a little taller.
