Snorkellers in Pembrokeshire, Wales, were treated to an epic show as bright blue sharks cruised right by them in the water.
People don’t always associate Britain with sharks but there are several species found in UK waters. Blue sharks (Prionace glauca) are a pelagic species that live in the ocean open but migrate through our seas during the summer months.
In the footage, snorkellers float quietly on the surface of the water as the sleek sharks swim by. Named for their azure colour, these sharks really do look bright blue.
“The deep blue waters are alive with grace and beauty,” says Pembrokeshire Boat Charters while sharing guest Emma Bebbington’s footage on Instagram. They describe the moment as “a rare and breathtaking encounter!”
