This coastal festival celebrates the multitude of surprising uses for these marine plants. There are chefs on hand cooking up tasty seaweed treats and suggesting inspiring ways to use it in your cooking.
There will also be demonstrations of seaweed-based crafts and salt-tanged talks to fire the imagination. Plus a huge range of seaweed products will be available to buy and try out yourself.
The festival will feature plenty of entertainment for all ages, including face painting, street entertainers and live music. Don’t miss the hands-on workshops for identifying different species of seaweed, and the chance to make
a miniature marine garden using an old plastic bottle.
If you’re looking for relaxation, you could try a seaweed footspa or massage, or even get a henna tattoo. The Seaweed Health Foundation will also be on hand with plenty of practical information on the health benefits of seaweed, and expert forager Emma Gunn will be ready to share her best tips and advice.
