Peppery, crunchy and bursting with colour, radishes are delicious fried in a pan with butter or thrown into a spring salad. They are also perfect for pickling

Pickled radishes

This super simple pickling recipe from BBC Good Food is the perfect addition to a spring salad or a hearty burger.



  • Radishes 12, small ones
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Golden caster sugar 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  • Fresh dill pinch
  • Apple cider vinegar 100ml


  • Step 1

    Cut the radishes into thin slices and place in a bowl.

  • Step 2

    Stir in the salt, sugar, mustard seeds and dill. Leave for 20 mins.

  • Step 3

    Warm the cider vinegar and 50ml water in a small saucepan, then pour over the radishes. Stir to dissolve the sugar and salt, then leave to cool.
