Netflix's hit period drama Bridgerton, set during the Regency period, is full of glamour, debauchery, intrigue and scandal.

Where is Bridgerton filmed?

As you would expect from such a lavish production, Bridgerton has filmed at some Britain's most fabulous and opulent stately homes and parks, all of which provide dramatic backdrops to the drama. And many of them you can visit....

With much of the action centring around the 'season', locations were needed for Bridgerton's London society scenes.

Bath has long been an obvious filming choice for period dramas when shooting 'London' scenes and Bridgerton is no different. 01 Royal Crescent, a townhouse museum that is decorated and furnished as it would have been during the Georgian period, doubles as the Featheringtons' home.

Bath's Royal Crescent also came in useful for Siena’s London home and Grosvenor Square.

And like many previous period dramas, Bath Assembly Rooms, with its mirrored, chandelier-lit, ballroom, proved useful for ball scenes, as did the city's Guildhall.

Bath also steps up for Lady Danbury’s London abode. The impressive society queen needs suitable accommodation and the city's exquisitely pillared Holburne Museum fits the bill perfectly.

The Bridgertons' London home is, however, actually in London. Rangers’ Housea wisteria-clad Georgian stately home on the edge of Greenwich Park, doubles up as their Mayfair residence although Hatfield House is also used for some scenes.

London's Syon House has also played its part, providing backdrops for Lady Danbury's ball in Season Two and for the Buckingham House scenes (before it became the palace).

When the other, poorer, side of London is to be shown, The Historic Dockyard Chatham steps in. It is here that Simon and Will’s many boxing matches take place and it is where Lady Featherington takes Marina to see the slums.

A lavish country stately home was needed for the Duke of Hastings' Clyvedon Castle in series 1 and Castle Howard, near York fitted the bill perfectly for external shots, while Badminton House in Gloucestershire provides some of the estate's internal scenes.

Badminton, of course, is no stranger to Netflix as Guy Ritchie's new hit, The Gentlemen, was also filmed there.

Hampton Court Palace

A royal palace fit for a queen was needed for Queen Charlotte and you can't get much more regal-looking than Hampton Court Palace, located in Richmond on the banks of the Thames. It provides the perfect backdrop for exterior scenes, while palace interiors were filmed at Lancaster House in Westminster.
