Nearly 25 years after the first Harry Potter film premiered, a brand-new Harry Potter television series is now in production at HBO, with filming having begun in July 2025.
Planned as a decade-long project, the series will adapt each of J.K. Rowling’s seven books into its own season, promising a more faithful and detailed retelling than the previous film franchise.
According to producers, Potter fans can expect a richly detailed reimagining of Hogwarts, its characters, and the magical world. The series aims to allow for storylines and character development that the films couldn’t fully capture.
