Foody event of the month:

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Sefton Park

19th – 21st September 

Passionate foodies will find their very own Garden of Eden at the seventh Liverpool Food and Drink Festival this September. The pop-up event at Sefton Park is stuffed full of live demos, masterclasses and stalls celebrating food from all corners of the globe.

The festival is choc-a-bloc with culinary marvels, including a Street Food area full of quirky flavours and exotic recipes and a Heavenly Chocolate Area, every sweet-tooth’s dream. For green-fingered connoisseurs, the heart of the festival contains an Edible Garden, perfect for those who love growing food as much as they love eating it.

Tom Kerridge and Yotam Ottolenghi are among the celebrity chefs headlining the open-air banquet and will be demonstrating recipes from their latest books and taking part in question and answer sessions.

The Great British Food Festival  Ragley Hall, Warwickshire

13th & 14th September

A simultaneous celebration of food and late summer, the Great British Food Festival is open to foodies of all ages and includes activities like children’s cookery classes and the ever-popular Cake-off, this year judged by Howard Middleton from BBC Two’s The Great British Bake Off.

Cardiff Country Fair Cardiff Castle

27th-28th September 2014 

Formerly the Great British Cheese Festival, the Cardiff Country Fair showcases the best and sometimes smelliest cheese from across rural Wales. Within the Cheese Village, lovers of anything from cheddar to Stilton can find their favourites and discover a few new ones.

Foodies will also find a delicious array of great British produce, from vegetables to homemade chutney, all at Cardiff Castle.

Norfolk’s Food and Drink Festival Holkham Hall

30th August – 12th October

It’s the tenth year running of Norfolk’s biggest and best festival. Stretching across a month, the festival hopes to inspire and celebrate the burgeoning food and drink industry in Norfolk. From the Tallest Jelly competition, to gourmet food stalls, there’s something for everyone to sink their teeth into.

Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Festival Brighton

July 14th – 25th October

From wine tasting to farmers’ markets, Brighton and Hove’s food and drink festival is a bi-yearly event championing local produce, hospitality and agriculture. With hundreds of events running through July to October, head on down to enjoy a taste of wild game or inhale the heady aroma of Sussex’s home-grown wine.

Brogdale’s Apple Festival Faversham, Kent

18th & 19th October

Apple lovers unite! The Apple Festival in Kent will include 500 varieties of apples, guided orchard walks, live music and local produce. There will also be a Meet the Experts stall, where eager growers and eaters can question professionals about growing and cooking apples.
