Make a rustic bauble

Create this simple but beautiful gift for a loved one by following this easy guide

You can use any manner of leaves, moss, berries and even feathers, as long as they can fit through the narrow neck of the bauble. We love the fir as it rests against the sides, making it look almost nest-like. Allow the foliage to dry out as much as possible beforehand as it will avoid condensation build-up inside the bauble and ruin the pretty effect.

You will need:

  • A clear glass bauble (we bought ours at The Range for £1)
  • Foliage
  • Tweezers
  • Ribbon to hang your bauble

1. Select your chosen foliage and cut it to size with scissors, snipping off any straggly ends that could break off.

2. Carefully pinch off the metal cap on the bauble (it has sharp prongs, so take care). Set aside.

3. Using the tweezers, push the leaves and berries inside the neck of the bauble and move around until they are in the desired position.

4. Replace the metal cap and give the bauble a polish with a soft duster to remove finger prints. Attach a ribbon to hang.
